In accordance with the State of California Public Contract Code Section 20160, et seq., when the expenditure required for a public project exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000), it shall be contracted for and let to the lowest responsible bidder after notice. California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAC) Informal Bidding Process

The Public Works Department invites interested contractors to complete a Pre-Qualification Application to be placed on the City of Gardena’s qualified contractor’s list. City’s Resolution 6059 has adopted the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act, (Public Contract Code Section 22000 et seq.). This Act is commonly referred to as “The Informal Bidding Act”. In accordance with the Act, the City will maintain a list of qualified contractors who may be asked to informally bid on any public works projects valued up to $200,000 that pertains to their area of expertise. In order to be included on the list, you must fully complete the application.
