Who is eligible? 

The Utility Taxes you paid for your personal residence may be refunded if you are at least 60 years of age (or receiving supplemental social security benefits) and you reside in a mobile home park or rental unit where the utilities are included in the rent or through a submeter.

How do you apply? 

If you meet the requirements stated above, you must fill out this form and submit it with your utility bill stubs. You must bring the completed form and your bill stubs to Gardena City Hall, 1700 W 162nd Street, Room #106. You must apply for this refund in person. 

Please indicate if your utilities are included in the rent or are billed through a submeter.

What can you claim? 

You can claim a refund for all the Gardena Utility User’s Tax you paid on all of your utility bills. The utility user’s tax is listed as “City Tax” or “Gardena Tax“. Only the tax paid for your residence is refundable.
