Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) Awards
The GFOA has awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Gardena, California for its 2024 comprehensive annual financial report. The City of Gardena has received this prestigious award for 39 consecutive years. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency.
The City has also been awarded the prestigious Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget for the 9th consecutive year. In order to receive this award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an operations guide, and as a communications device.
