HOW TO SUBMIT WRITTEN PUBLIC COMMENTS BEFORE THE MEETING

  • Email the Assistant City Clerk at publiccomment@cityofgardena.org by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Written public comments will be provided to the City Council and will be made part of the record but will not be read aloud.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE DURING THE MEETING

PUBLIC COMMENTS: The City Council will hear from the public on any item on the agenda or any item of interest that is not on the agenda at the following times:

  • Agenda Items – At the time the City Council considers the items
  • Non-Agenda Items – During Oral Communications
  • Public Hearing – At the time of the Public Hearings listed on the Agenda

Members of the public wishing to address the City Council will be given three (3) minutes to speak unless otherwise decided by the Mayor.

  1. HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN PERSON:
    • Fill out a “Speaker Request” form and present it to the City Clerk or Sergeant in Arms.
    • You will be called to the podium by name when it is your turn to address the Council.
    • The City Council cannot legally take action on any item not scheduled on the Agenda.  Such items may be referred for administrative action or scheduled on a future Agenda.
  2. HOW TO PARTICIPATE REMOTELY VIA DIAL-IN CALL/PHONE:
    • Dial 1-669-900-9128
    • When prompted, enter the meeting ID number, followed by #
    • Press # to skip when asked to enter participant ID number
    • “Raise your Hand” by pressing *9 when you are ready to speak on a specific agenda item
    • When prompted, to speak, press *6 to “unmute”

TO REPORT DISRUPTIONS OF TELEPHONIC OR INTERNET SERVICE DURING A COUNCIL MEETING

The City of Gardena, in complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), requests individuals who require special accommodations to access, attend and/or participate in the City meeting due to disability, to please contact the City Clerk’s Office by phone (310) 217-9565 or email cityclerk@cityofgardena.org at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled general meeting to ensure assistance is provided. Assistive listening devices are available.

CÓMO PRESENTAR COMENTARIOS PÚBLICOS POR ESCRITO ANTES DE LA REUNIÓN

  • Envíe un correo electrónico al secretario municipal adjunto a publiccomment@cityofgardena.org antes de las 5:00 p. m. del día de la reunión. Los comentarios públicos por escrito se entregarán al consejo municipal y formarán parte del acta, pero no se leerán en voz alta.

CÓMO PARTICIPAR DURANTE LA REUNIÓN

COMENTARIOS DEL PÚBLICO: El consejo municipal escuchará a los ciudadanos sobre cualquier punto del orden del día o cualquier otro tema de interés que no esté incluido en el orden del día, en los siguientes horarios:

  • Puntos del orden del día – En el momento en que el consejo municipal considere los puntos
  • Temas no incluidos en el orden del día – Durante las comunicaciones orales
  • Audiencia pública – En el momento de las audiencias públicas apuntado en el orden del día.

Los miembros del público que deseen dirigirse al consejo municipal dispondrán de tres (3) minutos para hablar, a menos que la alcaldesa decida lo contrario.

    • Rellene el formulario de “Solicitud de Orador” y preséntelo al Secretario Municipal o al Sargento de Armas.
    • Se le llamará al podio por su nombre cuando sea su turno de dirigirse al consejo municipal.
    • El consejo municipal no puede tomar decisiones legales sobre ningún asunto que no esté programado en el orden del día. Dichos asuntos podrán ser remitidos para su tramitación administrativa o programados para un orden del día futuro.
  2. CÓMO PARTICIPAR DE FORMA REMOTA MEDIANTE LLAMADA/TELÉFONO:
    • Marque 1-669-900-9128
    • Cuando se le solicite, ingrese el número de identificación de la reunión, seguido de #.
    • Oprima # para omitir la solicitud de introducir el número de identificación del participante.
    • Levante la mano oprimiendo *9 cuando esté listo para hablar sobre un punto específico en el orden del día.
    • Cuando se le solicite, oprima *6 para “activar el micrófono”.

PARA REPORTAR INTERRUPCIONES DEL SERVICIO TELEFÓNICO O DE INTERNET DURANTE LA REUNIÓN DEL CONSEJO MUNICIPAL

  • Envíe un correo electrónico a disruptions@cityofgardena.org para reportar interrupciones en los servicios de acceso remoto de la ciudad de Gardena durante una reunión del concejo municipal.

La ciudad de Gardena, en cumplimiento de la Ley para Estadounidenses con Discapacidades (ADA por sus siglas en inglés), solicita que las personas que requieran adaptaciones especiales para acceder, asistir y/o participar en la reunión municipal debido a una discapacidad, que se comuniquen con la Oficina del Secretario Municipal por teléfono al (310) 217-9565 o por correo electrónico a cityclerk@cityofgardena.org con al menos 48 horas de anticipación a la reunión general programada para garantizar que se les brinde la asistencia necesaria.
